“Prevetion of Trafficking in Human Beings: a Handbook for Organisation of Informational work” (I. Alkhovka and others, ed. by E.Nesteruk, Minsk, 2005)

The book focuses on the phenomenon of human trafficking, its historical and modern context, internal and external factors influencing its development, basic approaches to the solution of this problem. The analysis of national and international legislation on labour migration is provided. The special attention is paid to the social and psychological features of some risk groupsi influencing its particular vulnerability for traffickers. Trainings for risk groups and specialists are described.

The book addresses representatives of NGOs working in field of trafficking prevention, teachers and social pedagogues, psychologists and other interested persons.

 

“Compendium of papers of winners of students and postgraduate students scientific papers on issue of trafficking in persons” (O.Vankevich, O. Hamenko, ed. by E. Nesteruk, Minsk, 2006)

Contest of scientific papers on the issue of trafficking in persons  among students, and post-graduate students was organized by BYWCA in frames of “Programme La Strada” for the first time in 2003 and since then is held annually.

Its main goals are:

  • to attract the attention of students and post-graduate students of various fields of studies to the issue of trafficking;
  • to broaden the range of topics and problems raised in the articles and student papers analyzing the given phenomenon;
  • financial support of the most gifted Belarussian students and post-graduate students interested in researching the problem of trafficking in persons.
 

“Experience of “La Strada” hotline on prevention of trafficking in persons” (G.Tjurina and others, ed. by I.Alkhovka, Minsk, 2006)

The process of establishment and development of hotline on prevention of trafficking in human beings is described, its cooperation with governmental, non-governmental and international structures and analysis of phone calls is described. Special focus is made on effectiveness of .hotline activity through strengthening human resources and organisation of social advertising campaign.

The book addresses representatives of NGOs working in field of trafficking prevention, social workers, psychologists, hotline consultants and other interested persons.

 

“Organization of work on prevention of trafficking in persons: manual for teachers, educators,social pedagogues, psychologists, parents” (I.Alkhovka, S. Burova, I. Dudnik and others, ed. by V. Chechet, Minsk, 2004)

The manual focuses on the phenomenon of human trafficking, its historical and modern context, internal and external factors influencing its development, basic approaches to the solution of this problem. The analysis of national and international legislation on labour migration is provided. Special focus is made on social-economic status of women and youth as main risk groups. A system of interactive trainings for young people is provided.

Reference book contains information about visas, employment, marriage, student exchange programmes and useful phone numbers and addresses in 16 EU countries: Austria, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Belguim, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, France and Czech Republic.

The book addresses representatives of NGOs working in field of trafficking prevention and other interested persons.

This handbook is unique as it was published specially for trainers on gender education and would be intersting for pedagogues, psychologists, NGO representatives working with young people.

 

“Violence against women and children: problem analysis and its solutions in Republic of Belarus” (I. Chutkova, S. Burova, E.Kapitonova. Minsk, 2003)

Social and legal aspects of violence against women and children, international and national legislation, results of regional campaign “Life free of violence” in CIS countries and Lithuania and practical recommendations for victims of violence are presented in the book.

The book addresses representatives of NGOs, teachers and social pedagogues, psychologists and other interested persons.

 

“Counteraction to discrimination of young women. Collection of materials for seminars and trainings” (S. Burova, Minsk, 2004)

This book is a result of social project “Counteraction to discrimination of young women” implemented by YWCA of Belarus in 2002-2003. the book contains both theoretic and practical materials, legislative acts regulating status of women in various spheres of life, results of sociological research. The book addresses pedagogues, psychologists, sociologists, NGO representatives engaged in issues of gender equality and other interested persons.
